ABC News Janitor Keanon Kyles Gets Lead Role In Opera Play
A guy named Keanon Kyles works as a janitor at ABC Chicago station now gets his dream of performing in an opera abroad.
Keanon Kyles was a 27-year-old hardworking guy that has three (3) jobs. As said, he was a janitor, a vocal coach, and also does visual merchandising for a department store. Because of these, about 90 hours of work are added to him per week but, he still manages to have time practicing his opera singing.
“It’s a lot of sleepless nights and a lot of long days, but it all pays off at the end because you get to do what you love: music,” said Kyles in an interview on ABC News.
He added that he also practices during his janitorial work alone.
When asked about his quest, he answered, “My quest is to go overseas and blow up and be able to come back here and…sing opera for the rest of my life.”
In order to fulfill his dream, he tried searching for opera auditions in the UK online and fortunately, he found one that let him send a video performance of him.
Then, the next day, Keanon received a callback saying that he has been selected to perform in the opera La Boheme at the Edinburgh International Festival. He said that that he is the only American chosen for the opera and it’s like representing the nation.
Keanon hopes to be an inspiration and an encouragement to others who wanted to reach their dreams like him.
Isn’t this inspiring?
