Kevin Durant, Now A Warrior
Oklahoma City Thunder Superstar Kevin Durant is joining the Golden State Warriors which was confirmed after his announcement on Monday.
In a post by The Players’ Tribune, Durant said that he has experienced “by far the most challenging few weeks in my professional life.”
According to a report by ESPN, Durant is expected to sign a two-year, $54.3 million contract with a player option deal after the first year.
“The primary mandate I had for myself in making this decision was to have it based on the potential for my growth as a player — as that has always steered me in the right direction,” Durant said.
According to him, he will be joining the Warriors to enhance his growth as a player and as an individual.
“..I am also at a point in my life where it is of equal importance to find an opportunity that encourages my evolution as a man: moving out of my comfort zone to a new city and community which offers the greatest potential for my contribution and personal growth,” the 27-year-old NBA superstar said.
Kevin Durant was seven-time NBA All-Star and had been the MVP on NBA last 2014. With his caliber, he will be a great asset for the Championship powerhouse team, Golden State which will be building themselves for the next season.
KD will be joining the two-time reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and the others.
Draymond Green even expressed his excite having Kevin Durant in their team, saying that he is excited about the opportunity the “add one of the best players in the world” to their team and to their brotherhood.
