LacDon are against the anti-drug campaign of the Philippine National Police. Lacson and Gordon are the two returning senators but were issued that are cold to the Philippine National Police anti-drug campaign.
According to a statement of Lacson, he clarified that he is not against to President Rodrigo Duterte. In fact, he and Gordon believe that the mayor can really make a difference in reducing crime and corruption in the country.
Panfilo “Ping” Morena Lacson, Sr. was a former PNP director general during his police career. Richard Juico Gordon or known as Dick Gordon, is a Filipino Statesman and broadcaster who currently serves as the chairman of the Philippine Red Cross.
Both Senators are cold to the PNP campaign that is headed by Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa. Lacson and Gordon undergo a congressional investigation over the spate of deaths of drug pushing suspects during the PNP’s drug buy-busts, raids and surveillance operations.
The PNP anti-drug campaign resulted to thousands of drug users and pushers who have voluntarily surrendered to the police in different parts of the country fearing they would lose their lives in a hardline drive against drug syndicates. But related to this issue, Gordon believes that the police force must be the first to hold an internal investigation of any violation of the law alleged to have been committed by cops.
Lacson and Gordon’s remarks were in apparent reference to De Lima, who was reported last week to have vowed to investigate the string of deaths of drug suspects in police operations.
