Secretary Erwin Tulfo Warns Abusive DSWD Employees to Face Suspension
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Erwin Tulfo has warned the abusive agency’s employees to face suspension.
Erwin Tulfo warned individuals who work for the DSWD not to treat those who ask for their assistance poorly. Tulfo stated in his address that DSWD members must be courteous to anyone who approaches them.
Tulfo reminds the staff to look after the clients or customers of the agency. The DSWD employee will be suspended if it is established that they behaved badly toward someone who received assistance.
Even though those who seek assistance are not underprivileged, according to Tulfo, those who work for the DSWD may undervalue them. Because the poor are the ones who contact us, this agency’s clients and customers include single mothers, the elderly, individuals with disabilities, the ill, indigenous people, and homeless or abandoned children.
Meanwhile, the veteran journalist recently stated that if he is not effective as secretary of the DSWD, he will leave. According to his remark, he pushes himself to ensure that support or relief would arrive in 24 hours or less, especially in disaster-stricken areas.
He went on to say that if the department fails to do so and the bureaucracy grows, there would be greater corruption. As a result, he’ll inform the president, Mr. President, that he’s ineffective and should be replaced.
