BTS, which can’t be denied as one of the most popular and successful K-pop groups in the current generation, has gained massive followers. Their concerts, shows, TV appearances, and albums are all sold out, and even their merchandise is immensely popular and supported by their fans, referred to as the BTS Army. They have topped the Billboard charts multiple times and have won various group awards. However, in South Korea, all citizens are required to enter the military between the ages of 18 and 28, with no exceptions, regardless of fame, wealth, or political status. The only way to be temporarily exempt is through presidential approval for various reasons, but this exemption is only temporary.
Last week, Big Hit Entertainment, the management of BTS, announced the preparation of paperwork for BTS’s Suga, who is about to enter the military. This became the subject of news and various social media platforms. Various reactions from army fans all around the world flooded in.
Recently, the reaction from BTS’s 8 million fans on a social media platform couldn’t be contained after a member of BTS, J-Hope, posted a photo of himself in a military uniform. His caption read, “I’ll be Hwaiting again!! (I’ll be working hard again!!)” J-Hope is the rapper and dancer of the group, and he began his military service in April.
