‘Candy Crush’ will not only be seen on smartphones, iPad, but will be viewed on TV.
Some mothers and even the youth get hooked to tapping their smartphones, playing the ‘Candy Crush’.
May it be at home, while riding the bus, or anywhere, this sugary game application on smartphones or iPad attracts the interest of the phone users, especially when addicted to it.
Candy Crush started back in 2012 using the simple mechanic to match colored candies in a trio or more to earn points and progress in 2,000 levels.
Now, the game has two versions, Candy Crush Saga and Candy Crush Soda, and both are top-grossing apps with approximately 18 billion game rounds played monthly.
A television station in the United States announced that the toxic and nostalgic game your mom loves to play is “crushing” its way to TV.
On Tuesday, American broadcasting company CBS announced that it is trying to get a partnership with Lionsgate and King Games to adapt the sugary mobile app into a live-action game show.
The Verge revealed that the players will compete with gigantic interactive boards in the proposed game show which will last for an hour. In this game, contestants will have to “use their wits and physical agility to compete on enormous, interactive game boards.”
In a press statement on Tuesday, as quoted by American news sites, Glenn Geller, president of CBS Entertainment said, “We are huge fans of Candy Crush and, like so many others, we know the ‘rush’ of advancing to the next level of the game.”
In connection to this plan, the creators tapped Matt Kunitz, producer of the “Fear Factor” saga, to produce the proposed game show.
“The Candy Crush franchise lends itself perfectly to the kind of larger-than-life, physical game shows that I love to produce,” Kunitz said.
While the audience, especially those who are fans of the mobile app are excited to witness the planned game show, they will still wait for some details.
Other details such as the target airing date and hosts will be revealed soon.
