Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray is embracing the winter season in Turkey, just days after actor Sam Milby confirmed their breakup. The beauty queen and model has been sharing glimpses of her adventure in the historical region of Cappadocia through a series of Instagram posts.
Catriona marveled at the region’s unique landscapes, which feature ancient cave dwellings, the iconic “fairy chimneys,” and sprawling underground cities. Despite missing out on a hot air balloon ride due to unfavorable weather conditions, she made the most of her trip by exploring the area’s rich history.
“The cave systems are so interesting, and we’re even staying in a cave hotel!” she excitedly shared in one of her updates.
Stylish and Practical for the Season
Before flying to Turkey, Catriona attended the reopening of the Spanish fashion label Mango’s store at the B6 building of Bonifacio High Street in Taguig City. In an interview with Philstar.com, she revealed that she carefully curated her winter wardrobe for the trip.
“I actually got a lot of sweaters and coats. I’m going to Turkey… so kailangan ng pang-lamig,” she said, highlighting the importance of stylish yet functional fashion choices.
She praised the brand for offering versatile pieces that can be worn multiple times.
“Kasi, very practical ang approach ko when it comes to my wardrobe. So I kind of like pieces that are not just one-wear piece. Basta, ma-ROI (return on investment) ko s’ya!” she added.
For the Mango event, she opted for a laid-back yet chic ensemble, wearing oversized pants, a relaxed halter top, and an Aranaz bag, emphasizing her love for supporting local brands.
“I think I’m kind of wearing blues recently but I do love vibrant colors,” she noted. “I don’t think there’s any rule when it comes to fashion, basta lang it’s not hard to wear.”
Sam Milby Clears the Air on Breakup
While Catriona enjoys her time in Turkey, her ex-boyfriend Sam Milby recently spoke up about their split, emphasizing that no third party was involved.
“There was never a third party sa amin ni Cat. That needs to be cleared. There is no truth to it at all,” Sam clarified in a statement.
Despite their separation, both Catriona and Sam appear to be focusing on their respective journeys. With Catriona immersing herself in new experiences abroad and Sam addressing the public, both are moving forward in their own ways.
