The throwback photo of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey De Leon which was recently posted on the latter’s Instagram account garnered various reactions.
Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon are considered to be an icon already of the Philippine entertainment industry.
The trio had been entertaining their fans from different walks of life and age brackets for several decades now.
With that, they can be called as three of the pillars of television, movie and music industries.
Recently, Joey posted a throwback photo of him together with Tito and Vic during their younger days when they were still singing as a band.
“Discorama/Student Canteen days noong wala pa kaming pampagupit at pambili ng pang-ahit! Ngayon mas kailangan ng pang-ahit dahil ? maputi na ?ang…” Joey said on his caption.
Before being known to be the television trio TVJ, they were together as band members of VST & Co., which is tagged to be the pioneer and icon of what is known as the Manila Sound.
In 1975, Joey became a host of ‘Discorama’, the afternoon variety show in GMA back then with Bobby Ledesma.
The Henyo Master then invited the Sotto brothers, Tito, Vic and Val, who where his co-stars in ‘Ok Lang’.
However, it was just Tito and Vic who accepted his invitation and so the TVJ trio was created. They are now known as the big three of ‘Eat Bulaga’.
Their fans over the years continue to support them in whatever endeavor they are doing.
