Jay Sonza appeared to be misinformed about the accident that happened to Eddie Garcia
Veteran journalist Jay Sonza appeared to be misinformed about the recent accident that happened to veteran actor Eddie Garcia on the set of Rosang Agimat.
Initial report from GMA stated that he had a heart attack which was later on withdrawn. Videos circulated on social media showed that Eddie tripped on a cable wire and fell. He lost his consciousness because of what happened.
It appeared that it did not reach to the knowledge of Jay that the Kapuso network already had a clarification regarding this matter.
Based on a report from the Philippine Entertainment Portal, the veteran journalist who was also part of the GMA News and Public affairs in the past had this tirade:
“Did you review your video-assist recordings at the time Eddie Garcia was taping?Did you not see that he tripped on the cable and tumbled? Did you have standby medical team and ambulance during the taping?
“Who rushed the 90-year-old actor to the nearest medical facilities? Was it your production crew or his fellow cast members?
“Why haven’t you come up with a media release detailing the real score on the incident? Why didn’t you correct stories circulating that he had a stroke or a heart attack? Haven’t you seen the CCTV footage indicating otherwise?
“Akala ko ba serbisyong (balitang) totoo lamang!”
Jay Sonza had no idea yet that the management of GMA network already released an official statement about this.
Here is the statement from the Kapuso network.
“The video of Mr. Eddie Garcia faltering in his steps and eventually collapsing has reached GMA. We are seriously reviewing the said video as well as other videos of the same scene which our cameras also took before we make any conclusions on what really transpired.
“The statement that was released earlier was given to GMA News by Nick, Mr. Eddie Garcia’s stepson. We will wait for the family or their doctor to issue a formal update on his condition. Meanwhile, we continue to pray for his quick recovery.”
Based on the report, GMA also addressed the issue regarding the absence of paramedics on the set of the teleserye.
The network stated that they are currently investigating this issue as it is their automatic rule to have medical personnel during a taping.
Aside from the statements, GMA is also releasing updates on the medical status of Eddie Garcia.
What can you say about this?
