Rep. Alfred Vargas will prioritize the National Artist Award for Eddie Garcia
Congressman Alfred Vargas will prioritize the National Artist Award for veteran actor Eddie Garcia who died after an accident happened while he was taping.
Eddie was supposed to have his comeback in the Kapuso network through the upcoming series Rosang Agimat. However, during their shoot last June 8, he accidentally tripped on a cable wire and fell.
After several days of being unconscious at the Makati Medical Center with minimal brain activity, the 90-year-old actor passed away.
Rep. Vargas, who is also an actor and had the opportunity to work with Manoy, said that he will prioritize the National Artist Award for the latter as the 18th Congress will start on July 1, 2019.

“Mr. Garcia was the ultimate professional. We have worked together in a movie and a telenovela. He always arrived early on the set and during showbiz functions,” the Quezon City District V Representative said.
He also said that Tito Eddie has valued his craft and his awards are proofs to this. The actor-politician also cited that everyone on the set, from the director to the crew received respect from the late actor.

“He’s a great loss to the entertainment industry,” Rep. Alfred Vargas said, based on PEP’s report.
He also shared a post on his Instagram account as a tribute to Eddie Garcia.
