Comedienne-singer Kakai Bautista shared her experience as the wardrobe girl of Broadway diva Lea Salonga.
Lea is indeed one of the most successful Pinoy artists. Her success is not just known in the Philippines but all over the world. She was able to carry the name of the country to other parts of the globe because of her talent. That is why it is a privilege for many artists to work or collaborate with her.
One of the artists who expressed happiness to be part of Lea’s career is Kakai. The comedienne-singer, who also started from theater shared her experience as the wardrobe girl of the Broadway diva 20 years ago.
Kakai shared a throwback photo with Lea on her Instagram account. In her caption, she revealed that it was taken back in 2000. According to her, she worked as the wardrobe girl of the world-renowned theater actress.
“𝙸 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚠𝚊𝚛𝚍𝚛𝚘𝚋𝚎 𝚊𝚜𝚜𝚒𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚗𝚝. 𝙸 𝚒𝚛𝚘𝚗, 𝚕𝚊𝚞𝚗𝚍𝚛𝚢, 𝚌𝚊𝚛𝚛𝚢 𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚌𝚘𝚜𝚝𝚞𝚖𝚎𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚠𝚊𝚜𝚑 𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚒𝚗𝚗𝚎𝚛𝚐𝚊𝚛𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚜 𝟼 𝚍𝚊𝚢𝚜 𝚊 𝚠𝚎𝚎𝚔 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚊𝚕𝚖𝚘𝚜𝚝 𝚊 𝚢𝚎𝚊𝚛. 𝙸 𝚍𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚜 𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚘𝚗 𝚚𝚞𝚒𝚌𝚔 𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚐𝚎𝚜,” she shared.
Kakai also shared that she had to walk from EDSA to AFP Theater and to skip meal in order to save money for her transportation. Despite the difficult times they went through with her friends, she said that they were happy.
One of the things that pushed her not to quit was the fact that she had the chance to hear and sing with Lea even at the backstage. “𝙽𝚊𝚐𝚒𝚐𝚒𝚜𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚊𝚗𝚐 𝚍𝚒𝚠𝚊 𝚔𝚘 ️ 𝚋𝚎𝚌𝚊𝚞𝚜𝚎 𝚒 𝚂𝚎𝚎 𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚢𝚍𝚊𝚢. 𝙸 𝚐𝚘𝚝 𝚝𝚘 𝚜𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚍𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚎 𝚘𝚏𝚏 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚐𝚎 w𝚒𝚝𝚑 𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚍𝚞𝚛𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚜𝚑𝚘𝚠𝚜. 𝙸 𝙶𝚘𝚝 𝚝𝚘 𝚑𝚞𝚐 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚐𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚝 𝚑𝚎𝚛 “𝚟𝚘𝚕𝚞𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚎𝚛 𝚜𝚘𝚗𝚐 𝚕𝚊𝚍𝚢” 𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚢𝚍𝚊𝚢,” Kakai Bautista shared.
She added that her memories as the wardrobe girl of Lea Salonga is one of the “best best memories” that she will treasure forever.
