Alden Richards was criticized for allegedly endorsing a female politician which is supposedly prohibited for AlDub to do.
A netizen, who is obviously an AlDub fan, criticized Pambansang Bae Alden Richards for allegedly endorsing a female politician from the South.
The sentiments came from the supposed rule implemented to the AlDub tandem of Alden with Maine Mendoza.
The said netizen did not focus mainly if there is a relationship issue between the Kapuso actor and the female politician.
Reportedly, there are several photos of them together posted on social media.
It was mentioned in the article published in Bandera that AlDub is not allowed to endorse any politician.
Based on the source, here are some statements against Alden’s involvement in politics.
“Di ba AlDub was advised not to meddle in politics? Apparently he didn’t heed it, unless wala na ang AlDub that time. He may not have verbally endorsed her but his frequent appearance with her can be indirectly interpreted as endorsing.”
“Countless other photos… from her being a mayor til she became a congw… even if unwritten rule sa aldub ang wag mag endorse ng politiko noon, he could’ve protected their brand, but no, he chose his merry way and went ahead with being associated w/her & for what purpose? his own.”
On the other hand, Alden already clarified months ago that he and his family are indeed close to the said female politician. She is Representative Arlene Arcillas, the Congresswoman of First District of Laguna.
The Pambansang Bae revealed that it was the Congresswoman who helped him when he was going through a tough time in his life before.
Alden also said that there is no romantic relationship going on between them because, though the politician is separated from his former husband, she is currently in a relationship with a Makati Councilor.
According to the Kapuso actor, he and Arcillas are just laughing about the issue being thrown to them, based on the article published in allandiones.com.
