This is the answer of Atom Araullo to the rant of Direk Mike de Leon
In the midst of Mike de Leon’s rant against Atom Araullo, the latter chose not to speak about it.
However, after he has done his part as the lead actor of ‘Citizen Jake’ for the movie promotion, Atom finally breaks his silence.
On his personal Facebook account, the journalist wrote a lengthy reply to the hurtful statement of Direk Mike against him.
Atom said that he remained silent for a while because he does not want to be accused of doing cheap gimmickry for the movie.

The journalist shared that he knew he will be under intense scrutiny for accepting an acting job when his profession is in the field of journalism.
Despite of that, he accepted the offer because he wants to speak the truth using a different platform.
However, he wants to clarify that his character in the movie is not exactly the same as his personality in real life, though there is a bit of similarity.
“Do I stand by the film? Of course I do. Will I defend it? That goes without saying. While it has its weaknesses and limitations, I am immensely proud to be part of Citizen Jake. Meanwhile, and I fear I’m stating the obvious, Jake Herrera is not Atom Araullo,” he said.
Atom also addressed the hurtful remarks he received from the movie director.
He stated that just like anyone else he is also trying to do his best in his profession.
“I just aim to do my best like everyone else, always acknowledging that one continues to learn and improve everyday,” Atom said.
The journalist also said that the director continues to do his woeful behavior because he is never held accountable.
“Mike is a deeply troubled person,” he added.
For Atom Araullo, the best he can do for Mike de Leon is to tell him that “he needs help, patience, and understanding as he wrestles with his personal demons.”
