Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina Says Something About Gerald Anderson’s Performance in My Perfect You
CATHY GARCIA-MOLINA – Blockbuster filmmaker Cathy Garcia-Molina mentioned Kapamilya actor John Lloyd Cruz at the press conference of the new movie My Perfect You.
A new Filipino movie is showing in cinemas today – the My Perfect You. The movie which is directed by blockbuster filmmaker Cathy Garcia-Molina is mainly starred by actor Gerald Anderson and beauty queen-actress Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
The former Pinoy Big Brother housemate plays the role of a heartbroken man named Burn while the Miss Universe 2015 played the role of a bubbly resort owner named Abby.
Based on a report in Balita, citing their source’s information, during the media launch of the film My Perfect You, director Cathy Garcia-Molina compared Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson with actor John Lloyd Cruz.
Direk Cathy has also worked with John Lloyd several times before and she’s always impressed by the performance of the actor. Among the movies that she and the actor have worked together with are One More Chance, A Very Special Love, and You Changed My Life.
Based on the report, director Cathy Garcia-Molina shared that while she was watching the filming of one of the scenes for the movie’s finale, she saw John Lloyd Cruz.
“It’s a performance, a sincere performance that I only get from a John Lloyd Cruz,” she expressed.
The filmmaker clarified to the actor that, to her, seeing John Lloyd means she saw a sincere performance.
Aside from seeing a ‘sincere performance’ from Gerald, the blockbuster director also admired the Kapamilya actor for allowing her to step on his egos. She revealed that there was a time when she warned the actor.
According to her, in a part of the movie that he has short hair, she felt scared that she might not see the character that Gerald is playing and instead he would really see the actor,
“Sabi ko, ‘ikaw pag nakita ko si Gerald Anderson lagot ka sakin! Wala akong nakitang Gerald,” she said based on the report.
The premiere night of My Perfect You which was recently held was attended by many celebrities in the Philippine showbiz industry.
