These celebrities first appeared in TV commercials before they reached stardom

TV commercials often features the brightest stars in the entertainment industry but their are in-demand celebrities now who started as commercial models.

These stars began their showbiz career through a role in 30-second advertisement in television.

Here are some of them.

Alice Dixon

She popularized the line “I can fell it!” in a commercial for a soap. She was the Philippines’ representative for Miss International 1985 back then.  Since that, she consistently appeared on movies and various TV shows.

Nikki Gil

She starred in the commercial of a popular soda. She was walking in the street while singing ‘Sana’ and handling bottles of softdrinks to passerby. After that, she became a notable actress, singer and VJ. Nikki is now married to businessman BJ Albert.

Sef Cadayona

‘Saan aabot ang bente pesos mo’, this was the famous tagline of Sef’s ice cream commercial. He tried his luck in GMA’s talent search ‘StarStruck’ for its 5th season and he made it to the top 14.

That was the way in which her talent in dancing and doing comedy acts were discovered. Sef is now included in the casts of  ‘Bubble Gang’ and ‘A1 Ko Sa’Yo.’

Jordan Herrera

He was one of the members of ‘Power Boys’ who sang a song in the tune of Backstreet Boy’s ‘Everybody’ for a deodorant TV commercial. His famous line was “Wala ba kayong mga kamay?”

After doing some acting and hosting projects, he went to the US with his family but went back to the Philippines in 2013. He is still doing acting stints until now.

She was one of the brightest stars now who began in TV commercials. She was the one who played the role of a girl in a soda commercial who did not know what to do upon seeing Piolo Pascual.

The Kapuso Primetime Queen first TV appearance was in a commercial of soda crackers. She then had her first teleserye with Oyo Boy Sotto with the title ‘Kung Mamahalin Mo Lang Ako’.

She made a mark in Philippine TV when she did the remake of ‘Marimar’.
