Cristina Gonzalez finds music as a great help to eliminate the trauma her daughter Sofia had from typhoon Yolanda
As a mother, former sexy actress turned politician Cristina Gonzalez-Romualdez wanted to eliminate the trauma of her daughter Sofia Romualdez from the drastic calamity they experienced due to typhoon Yolanda.
It can be recalled that the family of Cristina is living in Tacloban as her husband Alfred Romualdez used to be the Mayor there and now she resumes the office.
When the said typhoon struck the country, one of the most affected areas was Tacloban.
According to Cristina, it was a traumatic event for them especially for her daughter Sofia who was holding on to a post for two hours in order to survive, based on the article published in Bandera.
“The water was so strong that Sofia got swept away. For about a hundred feet away, we were very lucky, she was very lucky that there was a post that she was able to grab onto. And on that post, she was fighting for her life for almost two hours. So, we were very fortunate na nabuhay siya from that incident. Not many families in Tacloban are as fortunate as we were,” she recalled.
Her motherly instinct was also worried if her daughter will survive the trauma and she thought that music might be a great help to eliminate the memories of the bad experience her daughter had.
“We were concerned about her coping with that, the trauma, without experience. That’s why I really pushed music for her in order to hopefully cope up and make that experience a lesson, a lesson that will make her stronger in life later on,” Cristina Gonzalez-Romualdez revealed.
Sofia Romualdez is now a recording artist under Viva Records and recently a media conference was held to launch her new song. Aside from singing, she also has a talent in playing ukulele and piano, based on the article.
