Paolo Valenciano reacted to the headlines from two news entities saying that his father Gary V. “has” kidney cancer.
Paolo Valenciano, the son of Mr. Pure Energy Gary V. called out to 2 news agency who for him wrote wrong headlines about his father.
The said news stated that the OPM icon “has” kidney cancer and this did not pass the attention of Paolo.
Based on the article published in Bandera which entertainment columnist Alex Brosas penned, the second son of Gary and Angeli Pangilinan slammed the 2 news agencies with this “wrong headline”.
It was said that by these words, he lambasted a news site:
“Hi..FYI he is already cancer free. You can’t post sh***t like this without informing the family. My head started spinning after I read that msg. Jesus.”
The other news entity received a short retort from him as he said, “HAD cancer.”

In line with this fiery words from the son of Gary V., some netizens disagreed with him.
Reportedly, one netizen said that there was nothing wrong with the headline because technically speaking one can only be “cancer-free” after a few years of treatment.
“Fyi, someone who had recently been cured from cancer isn’t cancer free yet, after the first five years from when it was diagnosed and treated, if di bumalik that’s when you’re pronounced cancer free. For breast cancer patients i think initial is 5yrs but they wait out to the 8th and 10th year since most ngrerecur cancer sa breast cancer patients.”
Another netizen pointed out that it was just a matter of tenses but the fight still goes on.
“It’s a matter of tenses morelike ung hanash nya, but the fight isnt over yet, so prayers a lot of it and watching one’s health to get to the goal. Mejo mayabang anak nya to blow his temper over this when the fight isnt even over yet, not even half. – cancer patient here on my 2nd year ‘cancer free.’”
A netizen agreed with the issue of tenses but pointed out that Paolo could have directly addressed the networks instead of posting it on social media.
“Right. Whether ‘has’ or ‘had’ was used at dahil ang pamilya nila ay God fearing at para yatang isa sa mga active sa kanilang church sana Paolo should have just talked to the powers that be sa network para na rectify ang si-tuation instead of posting his sentiments on social media. Kung ayaw pag usapan ng pamilya ang cancer baket may interview.”
Based on the article, as the son of Gary V. and a known person who came from a religious family, perhaps people were shocked when Paolo Valenciano used the word sh***t in his social media post.
