Ian Veneracion won the Best Actor 38th Fantasporto International Film Festival in Portugal
The recently concluded 38th Fantasporto International Film Festival in Portugal gave an international recognition to Filipino actor Ian Veneracion.
He won as Best Actor for his remarkable performance in the movie entitled ‘Ilawod’ which was released under Quantum Films.
Dan Villegas, the director of the said movie broke the good news on his social media account.

Aside from the director, the producer of ‘Ilawod’, Atty. Joji Alonso, also congratulated the award-winning actor.
She said that Ian Veneracion is an underrated actor and it is because of his good looks and people perceived that his acting skills could not take him to higher places.
“But the 38th Edition of the Oporto International Film Festival in Portugal saw beyond that and has awarded him the Best Actor plum for 2018. I am so happy for his victory as lead actor in our film ‘Ilawod,’ which for me his best acting piece, to date,” the lawyer/producer iterated.
Alonso also commended the director of the movie who contributed a lot to the outcome of Ian’s performance.
“As for our Director Dan Villegas, Ian’s win hit the proverbial nail on the head once again. It showcases Dan’s gift of being an actor’s director. 9 best actor/actress awards since ‘Mayohan’ in 2010,” she said, based on the article.
