‘Between Maybes’ director reacted to Julia Barretto-Gerald Anderson controversy
Between Maybes director Jason Paul “JP” Laxamana reacted to the recent controversy involving the stars of the movie Julia Barretto and Gerald Anderson.
The two Kapamilya artists received criticisms when they allegedly cheated against Bea Alonzo. Everyone knows in showbiz that Gerald was still in a relationship with Bea. However, he denied this and said to Julia’s father, Dennis Padilla that they already broke up.
Amid the controversy, the movie partners received a tremendous amount of bashing on social media. Even celebrities appeared to be expressing which side they are supporting such as Gretchen Barretto, the aunt of Julia, who showed support to Bea.
Regarding this issue, Direk JP was also asked to react since he worked with Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto in their movie together. Based on the report from The Philippine Star, the film director said that the issue saddened him.

It was also said that some fans pointed out that the issue linking Julia and Gerald romantically started when they were doing the movie which was released last May. Direk JP said that he is not that kind of person to intervene in the private lives of the artists he directed. On the other hand, the film director said that the toxicity on social media is already uncontrollable.

“We cannot contain social media and we cannot control the reactions. Huhupa din yan lahat,” Direk JP added, based on the report.
