Angela Bassette who played Wakanda’s Queen Mother in ‘Black Panther’ was surprised when the daughter of Lea Salonga did this.
Nicole Beverly Chien, the daughter of Broadway diva Lea Salonga shocked Angela Bassett, the actress who played the Wakanda’s Queen Mother in the movie ‘Black Panther’.
Lea recently shared a video on her Instagram account showing that the Hollywood actress visited their ongoing Broadway musical ‘Once On This Island’.
In the said video, the daughter of the Filipina singer went out of the dressing room to meet the Queen Mother.
When Nicole saw the Hollywood actress, she immediately knelt down while crossing her arms in front of her chest. It is the tradition featured in the recent ‘Black Panther’ movie as a way of giving respect to those who are in the royal family.
“So THIS happened tonight after the show!!! My daughter knelt to Wakanda’s Queen Mother!!! Thank you for your kindness, @im.angelabassett!!! We were so honored by your presence!!! #WakandaForever ,” Lea captioned her post with this.
Angela was about to hug Nicole but the latter instead knelt. So, the Wakanda’s Queen Mother just applaud the young girl.
With what the daughter of Lea did, Angela Bassett was both surprised and amazed. The Hollywood actress just then laughed with amusement upon seeing what Nicole did. Then they hugged each other.
The Hollywood actress kissed Nicole’s forehead while the latter was so delighted of her once in a lifetime chance to be up close and personal with the Queen Mother.
Obviously, Lea Salonga was also amazed by what her daughter did.
