This is the life now of ‘Patikim Ng Pinya’ actor Leandro Baldemor after he left the glitz and glamour of show business
Former sexy star Leandro Baldemor started his showbiz career in the 1990s when he was 18 years old through his manager Bobby Yalum who discovered him.
His first movie was shot seven days after he was discovered and it was a sexy film with Priscilla Almeda.
Then, he was paired with Rosanna Roces who was tagged as the ST Queen during that time.
Leandro said that ‘Patikim Ng Pinya’ enabled him to create his name in the showbiz industry.
He revealed that his first salary was just P30,000 and when his name became more popular, it reached to P160,000 per movie.
Along with his popularity as a sexy star, he said that the society has a way of degrading someone like him.
The former sexy star said that he used to receive indecent proposals not just from women but also from gays.
Leandro’s life was like a movie. There were years that he also went through difficult times.
He revealed in a documentary of GMA News Online that he hasn’t saved anything from all the bold films he made because he was a big spender.
The fact that he no longer had a manager during that time added to his burden.
That was the point when Leandro decided to seek for a greener pasture in Japan.
As an entertainer there, he was able to save money and decided to return to the Philippines.
He also ventured in politics and run for Board Member in the 4th District of Laguna but unfortunately it was not a success.
For the second time, he found a new opportunity to act in front of the camera in 2009 and that time, his body is not the top requirement but his acting skills.
Then, he was able to show the public that he deserves a place in showbiz industry through his roles in various soap operas.
When he was inactive in showbiz, he tried to ventured in different businesses such as restaurant, bar, and computer shop.
On the other hand, all of that did not succeed.
Now, Leandro Baldemor extended his artistry through wood carvings which is far different from his acting stints.
He currently owns a shop in Paete, Laguna and it is running for 8 years now.
The former sexy star said that he wants people to remember his name as an actor and businessman who grew old in the industry, based on the documentary.
