Pia Wurtzbach Reacts – Reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach finally breaks her silence on the current ‘FHM Sex1est Woman’ this 2016, actress Jessy Mendiola over her statement saying, ‘Talo ko pa si Pia’ [Pia’s nothing on me].
The beauty queen wrote on her Twitter account saying: “What I saw was a girl who was just really ecstatic to be given that recognition. Nothing wrong with that. Congratulations, Jessy!”
The current Miss Universe defended the Kapamilya actress.
Jessy Mendiola has been criticized by many bashers regarding her joke she stated during the awarding rights of the FHM event that she beat the Filipina beauty queen for the title of the ‘Sex1est Woman in the Country’.
The said bashing started after Mendiola’s statement during her acceptance speech at the victory party of FHM Philippines on July 26, held at the Valkyrie on Bonifacio Golbal City, Taguig City, was captured in a video and went viral.
In the video, she told the crowd:
“I think that’s what people like about me. I have a different type of body from the usual s3xy and I am here to prove that I can be sexy too and that’s where my strength is coming from,” the actress said.
“Talo ko pa si Pia Wurtzbach, ‘di ba? Nakakaloka iyong ganito. Sobrang overwhelming (I even defeated Pia Wurtzbach, right? This is crazy. It’s very overwhelming. Kung siya (If she’s) confidently beautiful with a heart, ako (I’m) s3xy. So, confidently s3xy with a heart.”
People have commented that seemed to be overconfident and has belittled the Pinay beauty queen with her statement. But others have defended the Kapamilya actress saying that the statement was just a joke.
In the results of the poll, Pia Wurtzbach came in the 16th place.
