That character which created terror to many was played by actress Daveigh Chase.
After several years, Samara or Daveigh in real life is all grown up now and she is far different from her character in the famous horror movie.

Due to her remarkable performance as a horror character, she was awarded as the Best Villain at the MTV Movie Awards back in 2003.
