Winwyn Marquez clarified her views regarding the transwomen in Miss Universe pageant.

Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 Teresita Ssen ‘Winwyn’ Marquez shared her views regarding transwomen in Miss Universe.

Miss Universe Spain 2018 Angela Ponce is the first ever transwoman who will compete in the most prestigious international beauty contest.

In line with this, during an interview, Winwyn expressed that she prefers that Miss Universe will only be open to all natural-born women.

On the other hand, she was quick to explain that she is nothing against transgenders.

Wyn also said that she is glad that they are already coming out to the open and people are respecting them, based on the article published in PEP.

However, it seemed that she still received criticisms regarding her opinion on transwomen in Miss Universe.

On her latest Twitter post, the 26-year-old beaty queen clarified that she is not attacking the transwomen or the members of the LGBTQ community.

She even stressed out that she has so many friends who belongs to the said community.

“I am proud of the LGBTQ movement and how far they’ve come,” the beauty queen said.

Wyn also iterated that she is respecting the decision of the Miss Universe Organization and she is willing to support Angela Ponce but that does not mean she no longer has the right to express her views.

The daughter of Joey Marquez and Alma Moreno even cited an example when she joined the RHA pageant.

She said that there were those who disagreed but they also respected the decision that she was allowed to join.

At the end of her clarification, Winwyn called out to people to read the whole story and not only the headlines of the news.

She also said that there is no need to put others to shame or to drop names.
