Charo Santos Concio Questioned 12 Days Suspension of It’s Showtime

One of the ABS-CBN executives, Charo Santos Concio, did not overlook the decision of the MTRCB (Movie and Television Review and Classification Board) to suspend the noontime show “It’s Showtime” for 12 days.

María Rosario Navarro Santos-Concio, known as Charo Santos, is a veteran actress whose career began in the 1980s. As a seasoned artist, Charo has received numerous awards in various fields in television and film. She served as the chief executive officer of ABS-CBN Corporation, the largest entertainment and media conglomerate in the Philippines.

Charo Santos Reacts

She also hosted “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” the longest-running television drama anthology in Asia from 2012 to 2016. On January 1, 2016, Charo stepped down as President and CEO of ABS-CBN Corporation and was succeeded by Carlo Katigbak, who was the Chief Operating Officer of the company at that time. Currently, she holds the position of Chief Content Officer of ABS-CBN Corporation and is the President of ABS-CBN University.

As one of the chief executives of ABS-CBN, Charo Santos did not ignore the MTRCB’s decision to suspend “It’s Showtime” for 12 days. Lala Sotto, the daughter of former Senator Tito Sotto and one of the pillars of the noontime show “E.A.T.,” was involved. Charo Santos expressed her thoughts using three questions:

  1. Is Lala Sotto creating noise for the upcoming election?
  2. Will viewers switch and be hooked on “E.A.T.” with Vic and Tito Sotto?
  3. Is it just a “MEMA” (Mayroon Lang, Wala Naman Ginagawa) statement?

Recently, the MTRCB also summoned and explained the noontime show “E.A.T.” after Wally Bayola used inappropriate language in one of their segments. Currently, there has been no decision released by the MTRCB regarding the “E.A.T.” controversy.
