Mariel is giving her husband, actor Robin Padilla, a baby girl.
It’s confirmed! Mariel Rodriguez and husband, Robin Padilla, are expecting a baby girl.
The couple revealed the good news in a party attended by close friends and some members of the press held in Taguig.
“Originally they told me that it was going to be a boy, pero after a few weeks they said that it was girl”, said the 32-year-old TV host/actress.
The dinner celebration triples as a birthday bash for Rodriguez, who turned 32 last Wednesday, and an anniversary marker for the couple, who has been married since 2010.
In March 2015, Rodriguez revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage, which would have been her first child with Padilla. In August 2015, Padilla announced that he and Rodriguez were expecting triplets. However, a few weeks after the announcement, a statement was released from Padilla’s manager that Rodriguez had suffered a second miscarriage.
Rodriguez, or Maria Erlinda Lucille Sazon Termulo, first confirmed her pregnancy in May, on an episode on It’s Showtime, eight months after suffering her second miscarriage. She lost her first pregnancy in March last year.
Her husband, Padilla, described their would-be-child as a “miracle”.
Rodriguez, who is undergoing heparin treatment to help in her delivery, announced early this month that she would take a break from her hosting duties to “fight” for her baby’s life.
This is Binoe’s first baby with Mariel but he has six others – four with his ex-wife, Liezl Sicangco.
The couple’s wedding at Taj Mahal in India has been meat of the controversy. They also tried the Igorot wedding in 2010.
As part of the ceremony, Robin and Mariel drank tapuy (rice wine) as a symbol of their love and performed the tayaw dance to show that they are bound to each other by marriage.
A pig was butchered and the blood was smeared on the faces of the celebrity couple.
After the Ibaloi ceremony, Robin and Mariel were married again in a ceremony officiated by a pastor.
Aside from Ali, Robin has three other children with his former wife Liezl Sicangco, namely Queenie, Kylie, and Zhen-Zhen.
