Did you know that Daniel Padilla was eyed to play Lastikman?
Kapamilya teen actor and heartthrob Daniel Padilla was previously eyed to play the role of Filipino superhero “Lastikman” which was created by acclaimed Graphic Novelist Mars Ravelo.
Director Frasco Mortiz revealed this during an interview with ABS-CBN News and other entertainment reporters at the last taping day of “My Super D,” the series which is also about the Filipino superhero.
“Kung papayag si DJ (Padilla’s nickname) na mag-superhero, why not? Pinu-push ko kasi siya nung una, Lastikman siya eh. Hindi ko lang alam kung papayag siya ngayon. Pero feeling ko naman depende sa concept,” he said.
Mortiz added that he had pitched a storyline for the project and he was supposed to direct it. However, it didn’t push through because Padilla was very young at that time.
Mortiz said that the movie would start after the hit series “Princess And I” which also stars Padilla’s rumored girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo.
“Nung time na ‘yon teen na teen pa siya. Eh ngayon nag-iba na, nag-mature na siya,” he continued.
When asked if the 21-year-old accepted the offer, Mortiz said that he had no idea. He also don’t know if the actor would agree to the project this time.
“Lastikman” was previously portrayed by Multi-awarded actor Vic Sotto, singer-actor Mark Baustista and “It’s Showtime” host Vhong Navarro.
Meanwhile, Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo are currently working on the still-untitled movie directed by box-office director Olivia Lamasan.
