Erik Santos said that he was preparing himself for Zephanie Dimarangan’s upcoming major concert. He also served as Zephanie’s coach and producer of its online content.
“Gusto naming [gawing iba] yung Zephanie’s way of singing,” Erik Santos said in an interview with ABS-CBN News. “Kasi ang gusto kong mangyari sa kaniya as a singer is, magkaroon siya ng sarili niyang sound na first line pa lang kapag narinig mo sa radyo, ‘Ay that’s Zeph’, and that’s really important.“
Erik was assigned by their management to spearhead the concept and attacks on what Zephanie wanted to sing on her song covers for her YouTube channel. Meanwhile, he said on the same interview that he reacted on Jona’s classical rendition of “Queen of the Night” during her ASAP performance last Sunday.
“I’m just so proud of Jona. Rehearsal pa lang namin nag standing ovation na kami, ibang klase,” he reacted. “Natutuwa ako kay Jona kasi nabigyan siya ng pagkakataon na ma-expose yung ganung talent niya. Kasi ang alam natin kay Jona ay magaling siyang pop singer, o biritera. Pero ang hindi natin alam, ang dami pa niyang kayang gawin.”
Erik was one of the guest artists in the upcoming concert of Zephanie at the New Frontier Theater on November 28.
“‘Yun din kasi ang training niya e, classical,” he added. “Actually operatic nga yung ginawa niya and mahirap ‘yun a. That’s a gift.“
