The family of Geneva Lopez, a candidate in the Mutya ng Pilipinas Pampanga 2024, is offering a P250,000 reward for information leading to her and her Israeli boyfriend’s whereabouts. Lopez, 27, and her boyfriend, Yitzchak Cohen, 37, were last seen in Capas, Tarlac, on June 21, 2024.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Geneva’s sister, Joni, pleaded for the public’s help: “Have you seen them? Nakita mo ba sila? Last seen Friday, 21/6/2024 at Capas, Tarlac. P250,000 for any valid information leading to their finding. Para sa anumang wastong impormasyon na humahantong sa kanilang paghahanap. Email: [email protected].”
The couple traveled to Tarlac province on June 21 to inspect agricultural land they intended to purchase, as confirmed by the Capas town police on Tuesday. They left their home in Barangay Malabanias, Angeles City, Pampanga, around 1:20 p.m. in a gray Nissan Terra SUV to meet a middleman involved in the real estate transaction.
According to the middleman, the couple inspected two agricultural properties in Armenia village, Tarlac City, totaling 20.5 hectares. After viewing the land, the couple and the middleman parted ways. However, when Geneva and Yitzchak failed to respond to calls or messages later that afternoon, their family grew increasingly worried.
The couple was declared missing by mid-afternoon on June 21. Their relatives, unable to reach them via phone or social media, took to social media to seek help before contacting the police the following day. The police investigation quickly ramped up, given the couple’s high-profile status and the urgency of their disappearance.
In a distressing development, Bureau of Fire Protection personnel in Capas found debris from a torched vehicle that matched the description of the couple’s SUV. The debris has been sent to the agency’s national headquarters for further analysis to determine if the vehicle was intentionally burned.
The mysterious disappearance of Geneva Lopez and Yitzchak Cohen has captivated the local community, sparking widespread concern and support. Friends, family, and even strangers have shared the family’s plea for information on various social media platforms, hoping to gather any leads that could help locate the missing couple.
Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the search. The substantial reward of P250,000 underscores the family’s desperation and determination to find their loved ones.
As the investigation continues, the community holds its breath, hoping for the safe return of Geneva and Yitzchak. The Lopez family remains optimistic, relying on the collective efforts of the police, fire department, and concerned citizens to bring Geneva and her boyfriend home.
