According to sources, Romero allocated a significant portion of her estate to charitable causes close to her heart. She bequeathed ₱71.7 million each to three of her favored non-profit organizations. These organizations are dedicated to:
- Caring for abandoned children.
- Providing shelter and support for the elderly who have been left by their families.
- Operating a non-governmental daycare center for underprivileged children.
While the specific names of these institutions were not disclosed by her attorney, the substantial donations underscore Romero’s deep commitment to vulnerable populations.
In addition to her support for non-profit organizations, Romero designated ₱287.1 million for the construction of a high school in Pangasinan, the province where she spent her formative years before embarking on her acting career. Romero’s bequests include 15% of her cash assets, her mansion, and all its contents to her only daughter, former actress Marites Gutierrez. Similarly, 15% of her cash assets are allocated to her sole grandchild, former actor Chris Gutierrez. These provisions ensure that her immediate family is cared for, while the majority of her estate benefits charitable causes.
