GMA Independent Contractors Seek Dismissal of Sandro Muhlach’s Complaint

Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz, independent contractors for GMA, are seeking the dismissal of Sandro Muhlach’s complaint against them, claiming it lacks evidence. According to their lawyer, Maggie Abraham Garduque, the allegations made by Muhlach are contradicted by the available evidence.

Garduque confirmed that Muhlach had filed a sexual harassment complaint against Nones and Cruz. She highlighted discrepancies in Muhlach’s statements, specifically noting his claim that he was lured to Nones and Cruz’s hotel room. Garduque presented text messages showing that it was Muhlach who initiated contact, asking if they were still in the hotel room and if he could visit.

“Mr. Nones and Cruz dispute all the allegations in the complaint and move for the dismissal thereof not only for lack of evidence but, worst, due to the fact that the complainant’s own evidence is contrary to his allegations in the complaint,” Garduque stated in a message to Abogado.com.ph. She emphasized that the burden of proof lies with the person making the allegations.

Garduque also mentioned that her clients would present further evidence to dispute Muhlach’s claims in their formal response to the complaint. They have been given five days to file this response.

As of now, GMA has not disclosed specific details regarding Muhlach’s complaint. However, online posts have surfaced, alleging that a GMA actor was harassed during the GMA Gala.

In addition to the complaint filed with GMA, Muhlach has also complained with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). The actor’s father, Niño Muhlach, expressed his outrage over the incident, describing the acts committed against his son as “unspeakable and vile.”

The controversy has drawn significant public attention, with many awaiting the outcome of the investigations and the formal response from Nones and Cruz. As the situation develops, the central question remains whether Muhlach’s allegations will hold up against the evidence presented by Nones and Cruz.
