In an interview, Kim says the reason behind Heath’s death was totally the latter’s own fault.

The night before “The Dark Knight” actor died in his apartment on January 22, 2008 in New York City, New York, Heath’s sister Kate warned him of the dangers of mixing drugs and taking them in one dose.

“It was totally his fault”, says Kim. “It was no one else’s. He reached for [the pills]. He put them in his system. You can’t blame anyone else in that situation. That’s hard to accept because I loved him so much and was so proud of him.”, he added.

The 28-year-old died from a lethal combination of several different prescription medications in his New York apartment. But Kim clarifies his son was not an addict but only a victim of its misuse.

The toxicology report found that Ledger’s death was the result of “acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine”, and his death was “accident, resulting from the abuse of prescribed medications.”

Two years close to a decade of living without his son, Heathcliff Andrew, Mr. Ledger says he misses him and still cries over his passing away.

Ledger, born in Perth, Australia on the fourth of April 1979,  made nineteen films, including 10 Things I Hate About You (1999), The Patriot (2000), A Knight’s Tale (2001), Monster’s Ball (2001), Ned Kelly (2003), The Brothers Grimm (2005), Lords of Dogtown (2005), Brokeback Mountain (2005), Casanova (2005), Candy (2006), I’m Not There (2007), The Dark Knight (2008) and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009).

Heath also produced and directed music videos and aspired to be a film director.

In the 2014 United Nations World Drug Report says that Australians are some of the biggest recreational drug users in the world.
