“The Heirs” Star Kim Woo-bin Diagnosed with a Rare Kind of Cancer

The Heirs star Kim Woo-bin has been diagnosed with a rare kind of cancer.

In a statement released by Sidus HQ, the agency that handles Kim Woo-bin, it stated that: “Kim Woo-bin wasn’t feeling good and recently visited a doctor. We found out that he has nasopharyngeal cancer. He started receiving drug treatment and radiation therapy. Please cheer for and support him.”

Kim Woo-bin came to prominence when he portrayed the role Choi Young-do in the phenomenal series, “The Heirs” which starred with superstars Lee Min-ho and Park Shin-hye. The series also aired on Kapamilya Network in 2014.

According to a report from ABS-CBN News, he visited the country last year.

Kim Woo-bin’s condition is considered rare because based on the report, only one out of 100,00 people in North America suffers from this kind of cancer. But it is common in Asian countries, particularly in China.

WebMD described nasopharyngeal cancer as a type of head and neck cancer, that usually starts with the throat or nose.

Meanwhile, moments after the news about Kim Woo-bin’s condition came out, he landed as the most talked about topic on Twitter Philippines, with the Filipino fans expressing their concern to the latter.
