OPM singer Jessa Zaragoza recently shared her battle with a severe case of influenza, which put her health to the test over the past weeks. In an Instagram post, she detailed her experience from the onset of symptoms to the worsening of her condition.

According to Jessa, she first felt weak on January 22 but pushed through with her work commitments, including taping for Sing Galing. Within just two days, she lost her voice completely and was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection. She was immediately prescribed antibiotics, which helped her recover enough to perform at the Vehnee Saturno Show on January 31.

Thinking she was on the road to full recovery, she was caught off guard when new symptoms emerged—body aches, a dry cough, and recurring fever. Despite feeling unwell, she honored her final work commitments on February 3. However, the following day, her body finally gave in to the severe flu, an illness she described as the worst she had ever experienced as an adult. “Napakanta na talaga ako ng ‘Parang Di Ko Yata Kaya’ habang naiiyak ako kakaubo,” she joked, adding that her cough was so intense that even her gums started to hurt.

Despite her difficult ordeal, Jessa expressed gratitude to her family and close friends who sent messages of support, food, fruits, and medicine to help her recover. She also gave special thanks to her doctors—Dr. Jocelyn Cobankiat, Dr. Maita Feliciano, and Dr. Michael Gan—for their care and guidance throughout her illness.

As she continues to regain her strength, Jessa reminds everyone to prioritize their health. “Let’s all take this as a lesson to listen to your body and its needs… Health is wealth after all,” she advised.
