Jessy Mendiola memorable moment with AJ Perez
It was 2011 when teen actor Aj Perez died, but for onscreen partner Jessie Mendiola the memories with him stays and is memorable.
In the book launching of A Smile of Hope: The Legacy of AJ Perez on April 17, 2016 at the National Book Store Trinoma branch, Mendiola was present and recalled the most memorable moment she had with the late young actor.
The actress said that the event reminded her of the later actor.
“Lahat ng memories ko with AJ and hindi lang si AJ ang naalala ko pati ‘yung family. Actually lagi ko naming nakikita sila tito minsan nakakasalubong ko sa malls minsan nakikita ko sa mga gatherings so hindi rin naman surprise na magkaroon ng libro because I think na its right naman na magkaroon ng tribute kay AJ,” she said.
Mendiola and Perez worked on the soap Sabel where they became onscreen partners.
Asked about the book, Mendiola said that although she have not yet read the book she thinks that it’s mostly about the memories of the late actor and how people remembered him as a smiling person.
She added that Perez was a very nice person.
Asked about her most memorable moment with the actor while working in the same project, she said that there were a lot but she noted an instance when she was already too tired of work but has a lot to do to finish the set but Perez caught up to her in her van and handed her a milk to drink.
“Mga 5 am na ‘yun tapos siya magbibihis pa siya ng school inifrom niya tapos papasok pa siya so imagine someone like that, papasol pa ng school, mahaba pa ang araw niya tapos binigyan niya ako ng gatas para magkaroon ng energy.” she shared.
According to Mendiola, Perez could have been one of the best actors of his time if were still alive adding how good he is as an actor and as a person to whom she referred as no bad blood or anger to other people.
