Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa said: It’s all for you!
Kylie Verzosa, as the newly crowned Miss International, dedicated her win to the Philippines.
This was the message of Verzosa after the Philippines got its sixth Miss International title in a coronation event held at Tokyo Dome City Hall in Japan on Thursday.
When asked about her reaction, Verzosa thanked her fellow Filipinos for all their support.
“Philippines, we got it! I love you all, this is all for you,” Verzosa told reporters after winning the crown at the pageant.
Verzosa said all her hard work was for Filipino pride. To recall, Verzosa joined the Bb. Pilipinas pageant twice before bagging the first runner-up title last year.
“All my hard work… all the struggles weve been through this past week, this past year [was for you]…I appreciate all your support,” she said.
“Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart I love you so much mabuhay,” she added.
During the coronation event, Miss Australia won as first runner-up, Miss Indonesia as second runner-up, Miss Nicaragua as third runner-up, and Miss USA as fourth runner-up.
On the other hand, Miss Nicaragua won Miss National Costume, Miss Moldova won Miss Perfect Body, and Miss Indonesia won Miss Best Dresser.
Verzosa’s victory marks the first time that the Philippines has two reigning international titlists as the reign of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach will not end until January of next year.
In her speech after she was announced as winner, Verzosa thanked all those who joined her and support her in her journey.
“I cannot believe this moment right now, and I am ecstatic and happy. Thank you so much to my family, to the Philippines, to everyone who supported me. I did not go through this journey alone, but I had a lot of help from the people who love me. I deeply appreciate this. This moment has only happened in my dreams. Thank you so much, Japan. Thank you, Miss International,” she said.
Verzosa is 24 years old and hailed in Baguio City.
