Lola Amour’s trumpet player, Angelo Mesina, has achieved a new milestone outside of music—he is now a licensed physician! The band joyfully shared the news on their official Facebook page, posting a heartwarming photo of a young Mesina, along with the caption, “Noon pa, gusto ko na maging doctor.” They followed it up with a more recent picture of Mesina in medical scrubs, as well as a screenshot of his name on the list of passers for the October 2024 Physician Licensure Exam (PLE).
The band celebrated the accomplishment, proudly stating in their caption, “Our boy made it!!!!! Everyone say congratulations Doc Mesina for passing the boards!!” The announcement was met with an outpouring of love and congratulations from fans, who flooded the comments section with their well wishes for “Doc Mesina.”
Mesina’s achievement comes after a busy year for Lola Amour. The band released their self-titled debut album in April 2024, followed by a grand album launch at the Circuit Makati Event Grounds. They also held a sold-out show at Draft Punk in Cebu, much to the delight of their fans.
To further promote their new album, the band embarked on a nationwide tour from May to July, performing their hit songs and solidifying their place as one of the most exciting local bands today. Among their most popular tracks are “Fallen,” “Maybe Maybe,” “Umiinit,” “Namimiss Ko Na,” and the viral sensation “Raining in Manila.”
Despite Mesina’s achievements, Lola Amour has not slowed down. Just this month, the band revealed that they are writing new music and collaborating with producers in Malaysia, hinting at exciting new projects in the pipeline.
Angelo Mesina’s success as both a musician and now a licensed doctor serves as an inspiration to many. His journey shows that pursuing multiple passions and excelling in them is possible. As fans continue to celebrate his new title, “Doc Mesina,” they can also look forward to the fresh music that Lola Amour has in store.
