Lolit Solis “Naawa kay President Bong Bong Marcos”

In her Instagram post, Lolit Solis expressed sympathy for President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr. regarding the numerous problems he is facing. Many people are complaining about the high price of rice, which ranges from 30 to 60 pesos or more per kilogram, far from the promise of 20 pesos per kilo that President Marcos made during his campaign when he was wooing the voters.

A campaign jingle by Marcos has also gone viral, with the lyrics changed to “bagong Pilipinas bagong mukha, ang sako sng bugas 1,400 ang tunga,” reflecting the public’s frustration with the high price of rice.

Souring Rice Price

In reality, since Marcos took office as president, I remember that the prices of onions, sugar, and other basic commodities started to rise, causing people to complain about the increasing expenses and the meager incomes of ordinary citizens. This was coupled with the rise in oil prices and transportation fares.

Lolit Soli’s post raised a significant question because she mentioned the sacrifices and hardships of the people’s lives, coinciding with heavy rainfalls, alongside praising Bongbong Marcos’s decision to apprehend and penalize rice hoarders and provide rice to the struggling citizens through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Lolit also noted that she observed Bongbong Marcos’s messy hair, which she attributed to the workload he is facing, contrasting this with a photo where his hair appeared neat, and he was smiling while standing beside Senator Bong Revilla. Revilla was charged and imprisoned in a plunder case related to the pork barrel scam, from which he was eventually acquitted and released.

In conclusion, Lolit Solis called for prayers for the challenges we are facing because, as she stated, only God knows what is happening to us now.
