Kapuso actress Mikee Quintos has confirmed that she and longtime boyfriend Paul Salas have ended their relationship. She revealed the news during the April 1 episode of Boy Abunda’s talk show, where she candidly discussed their breakup.
Mikee and Paul first made their relationship public in 2022 and celebrated their third anniversary in July 2024. Although she acknowledged their decision to go their separate ways, she refrained from disclosing the exact reasons, stating that it would be best for Paul to provide his explanation.
“Honestly, before today, pinagiisipan kong mabuti kung magsasabi na ako sa public o hindi––mahirap for me. It’s a big jump. Yung feelings ko kinokontra yung iniintindi ko sa brain ko sa lahat. Hindi naman sa ayaw kong ishare, pero I think there’s a right time for it. Pagdaanan ko lang po muna,” she admitted.
Mikee assured that their breakup did not involve a third party and revealed that they had been discussing the decision for about a month. Over time, they both came to realize that ending their relationship was the best choice.
“A month ago na yung nagstart kami magusap about this decision. Ngayon, nagiging clear sa amin na ito nga yung tama for us. Mutual naman na decision to,” she explained.
Despite their separation, Mikee remained optimistic about the future, believing that if they were truly meant for each other, fate would eventually bring them back together. She also emphasized that she had no regrets about their relationship, despite the emotional difficulty of their decision.
“Kung kami, I know siya na yung maghahanap ng way ng mangyari yun––si Lord. I won’t try to control things, I just know na ito yung tamang decision now… Oo naman, I think more than expected pa. Wala akong regrets. Mahirap for me tong decision na ‘to,” she added.
Reflecting on her experience, Mikee shared an important realization about love and self-worth.
“I think what I learned about love is we attract the love we give ourselves. Kung gaano natin kamahal yung sarili natin, yun yung love na tinatanggap natin,” she said.
Before concluding the interview, Mikee took a moment to address Paul directly, expressing her gratitude for the time they shared together.
“Paul, thank you sa four years and alam mo naman. Nasabi ko na yung mga gusto kong sabihin. Maybe I wanna remind you lang na nasa sa’yo to make all this worth it,” she said.
While their relationship has come to an end, Mikee and Paul’s journey together remains a significant chapter in their lives. Whether fate will bring them back together remains uncertain, but for now, they are embracing the path they have chosen.
