The Peas are releasing a special version of their 2003 track, “Where is the love?” in response to recent events.

The American pop-dance group, Black Eyed Peas, reunited after five years of separation.

Their come-back and get together after the 2011 hiatus was because of the re-release one of their biggest hit songs, “Where is the love?” to campaign for the end of gun violence amid the recent crimes.

The Peas are releasing a special version of their 2003 track, “Where is the love?”, in response to recent events.

According to Will.i.am, their get together and the re-release of their song has been influenced by the terrorist attacks in Paris, Belgium and Turkey, as well as by the deaths of two young men at the hands of police officers in the US.

He said they received appeals from their band’s fans to get the song back out there after each of these atrocities.

The teaser video shows that the likes of Jessie J., Kenall Jenner and Snoog Dogg appear to be involved.

Also in the remake are Jamie Focc, Ty Dolla Sign, Mary J. Blige, Justin Timberland and Jaden Smith.

The proceeds of the #whereisthelove benefit Will.i.am’s foundation, I.Am.Angel, charity that provides funds to the educational programs and college scholarships.

Will.i.am said: “I hope this song inspires the millenials to go all out. Care like your freedom depends on it”.

Fans who want to donate to the victims of the events that inspired the re-release of the song can put their share in with the links set up at Whereisthelove.com.

“Where is the love?” was originally released by the Black Eyed Peas in 2003, featuring Justin Timberlake. He is reported to also have helped in the chorus.

The song’s original video was filmed in East Los Angeles with Will.i.am, Taboo, Apl.de.ap, and Fergie.

It gained an instant fame after making it to the Billboard singles chart top 10.

The Black Eyed Peas was formed in 1995 and Fergie was added to the group in 2002.
