According to a report, President Duterte appointed Mario Luis Jacinto as MGB director in his Presidential Directive No. 002.
Jacinto is a former chief of the regional and Davao City environment and natural resources office.He is now in charge to oversee the implementation of mining projects in the country.
According to MGB, President Duterte appointed Jacinto will also assist Environment Secretary Gina Lopez in reviewing mining permits. As the MGB Chief and Environment and Natural Resources undersecretary, he will have the authority and supervision to all the mining activities in the country.
