Kapuso actor Paolo Contis shared the reason why Kapamilya actor John Lloyd Cruz is still popular until now even he took an indefinite leave almost 2 years ago.
Paolo and John Lloyd worked together in the defunct youth-oriented show in ABS-CBN titled Tabing Ilog. That TV project lasted for years and the cast members were able to create a bond with each other.
When JLC took an indefinite leave of absence from show business, his fans felt sad because that means he will no longer be seen as frequent as before.
However, some of his fellow celebrities expressed happiness that he was able to do the things that make him happy.

One of his friends and fellow celebrity who is happy for him is Paolo Contis. The Kapuso actor shared in a recent interview with PEP that JLC can afford to take a leave because it appeared he already saved for the future.
“I’m happy for him na he was smart enough to… I’m sure nakapag-save para ganyan siya ngayon. Yun ang tingin ko sa kanya,” he said.
He also said that if the Kapamilya actor will decide to come back, surely he will still receive the warmest support from his fans.
For Paolo Contis, the popularity of John Lloyd Cruz is just the same as when he was still active in showbiz. He was asked to react about the recent photos of JLC with Bea Alonzo who appeared to be doing a project together.
“Good good for him. Hindi naman sa ano… kailangan ng industriya si John Lloyd. Magaling si John Lloyd kaya kita mo, kahit ngayon, kahit sabihin mong grabe yung bigote, haggard, pero nag-aabang kayo, di ba?” Paolo said.
He added that people fell in love with Lloydie’s talent and not just with his looks, based on the report.
“At saka tingin ko naman, na-inlab ang tao kay John Lloyd more than the hitsura—it’s the acting. Yung truth on how he acts… Sa tingin ko, kahit anong balbas pa niya iyan, papanoorin ninyo pa rin ‘yan for sure,” Paolo Contis said.
