Paul Walker’s Daughter Gets Settlement.
Three years after the death of the actor Paul Walker, the attorney said on Friday that his 17-year-old daughter finally reached a $10.1 million settlement with the estate of the man driving the car that crashed killing them both.
Roger Rodas was driving the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT while Walker sat as passenger when the car proceeded through the trees and ended at a utility pole in Santa Clarity, northwest of Los Angeles, while driving at speeds of 80 to 93 miles per hour.
According to Meadow Walker’s attorney, the settlement would go into a trust for the teen. It was also revealed in a report that the settlement went unnoticed since 2014 because it was filed under “Meadow W.”
The attorney in his statement said that Rodas, the driver, was only partially responsible for the accident.
It can be remembered that Walker was still on taping dates finishing the Furios 7 with the accident happened which eventually led to a lull in its production.
The then released 2015 film became of the highest grossing films of all time with more than $1.5 billion worldwide.
The attorney added that the lawsuit continues as the daughter sues Porsche AG “intending to hold the company responsible for producing a vehicle that was defective…”
Meadow already filed the case against the German automaker for the alleged skimping of safety features that could have prevented the crash.
The attorney revealed that the 40-year-old actor survived the impact of the crash but not the aftereffect as the he was burned to death. They pointed out that Porsche had a defective design.
In the same case being filed by Roda, the car company got the favor of the federal judge saying “Plaintiff has provided no competent evidence that Rodas’ death occurred as a result of any wrongdoing on the part of Defendant.”
