In the past few days, the lack of information about Catherine, a well-known beauty queen from Toy, Batangas, caused confusion and concern among the people of Batangas. According to GMA News, authorities continue to diligently search for Catherine, and they have gathered a lot of information regarding the case.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Chitadel Gaoiran, head of the Public Information Office of Police Regional Office 4A, provided clarification on this case. “The gathering of information is still ongoing to identify the Person of Interest,” said Gaoiran. “POI” refers to the “Person of Interest” linked to the case.
Catherine’s sister, Chin-Chin, expressed her concerns through a Facebook post on October 13. Catherine called her sister on the evening of October 12, but the next day, her phone went out of signal.
Catherine was last seen at a shopping mall in Lemery on October 12 around 7 in the evening, just a few hours before she disappeared. However, the last information she shared with her mother, Rosario, was that she was at a gasoline station in Bauan.
According to Catherine, she was on her way to Batangas City for a meeting at Balisong Channel, an online media company where she used to work. But Balisong Channel stated that Catherine did not visit their office and was last there on December 13, 2021.
A “person of interest” in the case has been identified, but details about this person’s motive have not been released. Lucas mentioned that such information might impact the investigation.
Currently, a reward of P200,000 is being offered to anyone with information about Catherine’s whereabouts. Lucas stated that this reward comes from a local government official and the business sector in Batangas.
