Brazilian beauty queen Priscilla Meirelles has officially confirmed that she and Filipino actor John Estrada are no longer married, marking the end of their 14-year relationship. The revelation was made during her guest appearance on the talk show Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, which aired on February 13.

During her interview with host Boy Abunda, Meirelles openly stated, “We’re no longer married,” confirming that she personally initiated the divorce proceedings in Brazil in 2024. According to her, being a foreign national gave her the legal right to dissolve the marriage under Brazilian law.
Meirelles explained that although she and Estrada were married in the Philippines in 2011, she later registered their marriage in Brazil, making it legally recognized in both countries. She shared that changes in Brazilian law eventually allowed her to proceed with the divorce independently. Initially, she had considered filing for annulment in the Philippines, but the process was delayed due to restrictions brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The former beauty queen was candid about her reasons for ending the marriage. She revealed that after years of trying to make the relationship work, she realized it was time to move forward on her own. Meirelles said she fought for their marriage for 14 years, but reached a point where continuing the relationship was no longer healthy for her personal well-being.
She admitted that Estrada was not pleased with her decision. According to Meirelles, the actor questioned her move, but she firmly responded that she could no longer see a future with him as her partner. She emphasized that their differences in values, interests, and life goals gradually pushed them apart. For her, remaining in a relationship without shared direction and emotional connection no longer made sense.
Meirelles also addressed public perception, labeling her as a “martyr wife.” She rejected the label, explaining that her decisions were rooted in protecting herself and her family, especially their daughter. She said she did her best to preserve the relationship, but eventually realized that she had given all she could.
When asked about rumors involving third parties, Meirelles responded with humor, suggesting there were multiple individuals allegedly involved, though she did not provide specific details.
The couple tied the knot on February 26, 2011, in La Union and share one daughter. Despite the separation, Meirelles expressed her intention to focus on rebuilding her life and prioritizing her role as a mother while moving forward from the marriage.
