With the grant of an absolute pardon, the political and civil rights of actor Robin Padilla are restored.
President Rodrigo Duterte granted actor Robin Padilla an absolute pardon during their meeting at Malacañang Palace.
Duterte confirmed his granting of absolute pardon to the dubbed as the “bad boy of Philippine movies”, during a dinner with the members of the press at the Palace on November 15, Tuesday night.
Duterte granted Robin the absolute pardon upon the recommendation of the Board of Pardons and and Parole, under the umbrella of the Department of Justice (DOJ).
The case of the actor, along with 86 others, were reviewed by the BPP and submitted to the Chief Executive for grant of the pardon.
In 1994, Padilla, who is Robinhood Ferdinand Cariño Padilla in real life, was found guilty for charges on illegal possession of high-powered firearms and was sentenced by the Angeles City, Pampanga regional trial court to serve a 21-year jail term.
