Shamcey Supsup revealed the reason why she did not take a bath for a month after giving birth to her daughter Nyke with husband Lloyd Lee
Being a mother is no easy job and Miss Universe 2011 3rd Runner-up Shamcey Supsup is no exemption to all the hardships of giving birth.
The Filipina beauty queen has given birth to her lovely daughter with husband Chinese businessman Lloyd Lee. They named her Nyke and she is now two years old.
According to Shamcey, being a first time mom was not easy and she even revealed that she had to skip taking a bath for a month because of it.
As her husband is Chinese, her in-laws are very observant of the Chinese tradition, based on the article recently published in kami.com.ph.
Shamcey was told to skip taking a bath after giving birth or the ‘ge lai’ because according to the Chinese, it would help her heal faster.
In addition, it was said that she would no longer feel same kind of ache or pain associated in giving birth.
The beauty queen said that it was not easy for her to observe that kind of method, however, she had to do it because she knew that it was for her own sake.
She added that her body feels less pain now that she is older which she attributed to ‘ge lai’.
It was also mentioned in the article that due to this, Shamcey experienced post-partum depression.
Aside from that, one thing that added to her difficulty was her caesarean operation.
“My emergency caesarean operation contributed a lot too because I was not emotionally and physically prepared that I will be operated that way, a longer healing time, and my husband’s divided attention now that we have a baby,” Shamcey Supsup said.
Fortunately, the Filipina beauty queen got back on track when she started to work again.
Currently, she and her husband are busy managing their own restaurants and fast food chains.
“Our Pedro ‘n Coi chain is doing very well together with its fastfood counterpart Tambayan ni Pedro. Lloyd is targeting 50 restaurants in the next five years. I know it looks overwhelming and I honestly feel that sometimes I have too much on my plate running a business and taking care of my two-year-old baby girl. Nike. But when I look at the passion of my husband, I become excited more than overwhelmed. I know with my help, we both can do it”, she iterated, based on the article.
