Veteran actress and singer Sharon Cuneta, popularly known as the “Megastar,” recently revealed to the public that she traveled to Singapore to seek medical treatment for persistent pain affecting different parts of her body.

In a heartfelt post on her Instagram account on Thursday, March 12, the iconic Filipino star assured fans that she is currently doing well despite undergoing medical procedures. Her update came after many supporters noticed her absence from recent events and wondered about her condition.
According to Cuneta, the trip to Singapore was not for leisure or content creation, as some may have assumed, but for health reasons. She shared that she had been suffering from pain related to her spine, which has also affected her right hip and leg for the past two years. Because of this ongoing discomfort, she had been under pain management while searching for a long-term solution.
The Megastar explained that she underwent a medical procedure in Singapore that helped address the root of the problem. While she admitted that recovery is still ongoing, she happily reported that the treatment has already improved her condition.
Cuneta also revealed that medical tests uncovered additional concerns involving her neck, specifically in the cervical spine areas known as C4 and C5, as well as C5 and C6. Doctors recommended further treatment to correct these issues, which means she will need to return to Singapore in the coming months for additional care.
Despite these health challenges, the actress emphasized that fans should not worry too much. She reassured her supporters that the most important thing is that the source of the pain has been identified and addressed.
Due to her medical situation, Cuneta also apologized to her colleagues and supporters connected to the popular Philippine television program Your Face Sounds Familiar. She explained that she was unable to attend the show’s finals despite her efforts to be present. The Megastar expressed how much she misses her “YFSF family” and the loyal fans who were expecting to see her there.
Cuneta also took time to express gratitude to the medical team who cared for her during her stay in Singapore. She specifically thanked her doctor, Dr. Prem Pillay, for his expertise and compassion throughout her treatment.
In addition, the actress acknowledged the nurses who assisted her, including several Filipino healthcare workers at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre, whom she warmly praised for their care and dedication.
Cuneta ended her message by thanking her loyal fanbase, known as the “Sharonians,” for their continued support and prayers as she continues her recovery journey.
