Sid Lucero Wins Best Actor Award At LA Comedy Festival

Sid Lucero bags the Best Actor award at Los Angeles Comedy Festival.

Multi-awarded actor Sid Lucero was named as the Best Actor in the 19th Los Angeles Comedy Festival for his performance in the independent film “TOTO” directed by John Paul Su.

On Monday, the movies official Facebook page announced that the Kapuso actor won the Best Actor award while the film was named as the best foreign film.

“All of us at |‪#‎TeamTOTO‬ are pleased to announce that TOTO – The Movie just won BEST FOREIGN FILM and BEST ACTOR (for Sid Lucero) at The 19th LA Comedy Festival, the largest comedy festival in the United States,” the post reads.

The movie centers the story of Antonio “Toto” Estares who will do everything for his American dream, hoping to provide his family a comfortable life.

“TOTO” also stars Bibeth Orteza, Liza Dino, Thou Reyes, Bembol Roco, and Mara Lopez.

Aside from Sid Lucero, the mother of her half sister Andie Eigenman, veteran actress Jaclyn Jose also won the Best Actress award at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in France.

The 52-year-old actress was the first Filipino to bring home the award. She was recognized for her role in the movie “Ma’ Rosa” directed by award-winning director Brillante Mendoza.

Kapamilya star Jake Cuenca made also the Filipinos proud as he bagged the Best Actor award at the 2016 World Cinema Festival Brazil for his role in Diane Ventura’s “Mulat,” which also won the Best Narrative Feature award.
