International pop star Taylor Swift was last year’s awards night big winner for her hit song, “Bad Blood” but she missed this year’s event.
Taylor Swift was noticed to be absent in this year’s MTV Video Music Awards in a ceremony held at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The international pop start was last year’s awards night big winner for her hit song “Bad Blood” but this year, she did not have a nomination this year. Many speculated that she was absent because of her long-time feud with Kanye West and his wife, Kim Kardashian West.
But on August 30, she revealed that her absence was down to jury duty.
The “White Horse” singer showed-up for selection on Monday morning in Nashville, Tennessee, to be vetted by the court for an aggravated rape and kidnapping case.
Taylor stayed in a holding area at the courtroom with dozens of others waiting to hear if they would be selected to become a jury.
Tracy Bates, also a potential juror broke the Swift’s presence when she tweeted, “I am on jury duty with @taylorswift13”.
The court does not usually allow to take pictures but Taylor did not mind to take several selfies while waiting.
But in the end, Taylor Swift was found out to be disqualified from serving her jury duty due to ‘conflict of interest’ because of an ongoing sexual assault case she is involved in Denver, Colorado.
She was dismissed from doing jury duty and the Davidson County district judge also agreed to the dismissal.
“She asked to be left off of concern for an upcoming trial in Denver where she was, she used the term ‘groped’ by a fan at a meet-and-greet”, a Davidson County District Attorney General’s Office statement said.
